🎵Back in the day, Brook and me baby, we used to have fun🎵
Brook and I had met when she moved to my school in 5th grade. We had every single class together in 6th grade, so I guess you could say we were forced to become friends lol. We were inseparable all throughout junior high. Like most girls our age in 2008, we became obsessed with Twilight, read all the books, and would scream in the movie theaters when Robert Pattinson would make his debut. Can I be honest? We still freak out over him when we rewatch those dang movies. When we were in 7th grade, Brook had gotten a digital camera, so obviously I had to get one too. We would run around our neighborhoods attempting to take aRtSy photos of each other, following with a late night photo editing sesh in Picnik. I’m a firm believer that my photography career began that day when I got my Sony digital camera, and I owe it all to Brook.
Flash forward all the way to 2021, and Brook is getting MARRIED to the love of her life, Holden. The two of them dreamed of a quaint, backyard wedding, surrounded by their closest family and friends. From the wedding altar to the flower arrangements, Brook and I, with the help of others, put together the wedding of her dreams. AND for fairly cheap I might add (compared to other weddings.)
This whole experience was so eye-opening. It made me realize that you don’t need a huge venue, 350 people attending, and a fully catered dinner to have a beautiful wedding. The thing that made this ceremony so beautiful was the intimacy and hard work that everyone brought to the table. All of Brook’s friends and family chipped in with time or money to make her and Holden’s ideas come to life. Watching it all come together, while Holden and Brook professed their love for each other in her childhood backyard, was truly magical. Despite the cold that night, everyone left the wedding with their hearts extra warm.
